Christmas: Our Home

Just a couple of shots with Vi and our tree.  You may be wondering, "Where are the family shots in cute Christmas outfits?"  Well, there are none.  Perhaps next year we will have it together enough to do something like that.  Can't I still use the "new baby, too busy" excuse?  I think time is running out on that one. ;)

Christmas Part I: Beaumont

Well, here are some Christmas shots almost a month later!  Vi isn't taking long naps anymore so it's difficult for me to sit down for long.  Some of you were having trouble viewing the posts through the update.  Just go to violetvey.com if it's a problem.  

Vi's first Christmas was spent with me over the toilet puking.  Unfortunately I got some kind of 24-hour bug and it put quite a damper on the holiday (which is why we didn't get many photos).  Luckily it passed quickly, and we were able to enjoy the rest of the holiday together.  It was so nice having my family around me to take care of little Vi while I couldn't.  My mom was the best nurse I've ever had!

I'm a bad mom!  Very few pictures for December thus far, but I'll have lots after we visit our families.  Vi is doing great---cooing, giggling, smiling and rolling onto her stomach.

Jessica and Delilah are friends that live down the street.  They stopped by on a cold, evening walk while testing out cold weather duds for an upcoming trip to Europe.  Little Delilah will be 1 year old in February and is a DOLL!

Vi's First Visit to Jim & Lin's

Backyard Pumpkin Patch

We created our own pumpkin patch! I finally got the right conditions for photos today. I think Violet did a great job considering she has head/neck control only (and wobbly at that! :). She's 10 weeks.

This was Vi's first visit to Grandma Edwards' house. Danny's parents came over for a visit and a snuggle.

We also attended Clay and Kristin's engagement party where Violet met all of the Heftys.

First Visit to Grandma Mills

In the Mills Family, we have many birthdays around the same time so we get together and celebrate them at once. This year was particularly special because we had BOTH new baby girls---Violet and Ruby (Theo's sister, Teresa's new baby girl)---along with Bailey and Pearl (Teresa's 2 girls). To top it off, we had Teresa's husband, David, home on leave from Afghanistan.

Changes to blog...

Auntie Em and Uncle Dan came for a visit tonight. Yes, it's out of focus, but I'm experimenting with a new lens that's really tricky to focus (at least for us non-photographers). This was the only shot I had for the day and I'm playing catch-up (so much for the photo-a-day idea---stolen from Tyler ;). Notice the onesie says, "TRILL", made by Auntie Em.
